Kitchen Architect Julie Schaffer of Salles Schaffer Architecture in New York turned this city kitchen into a streamlined space.
Eke Out Every Inch. Think vertically in small footprints. Schaffer installed ceiling-height cabinets so that lesser-used equipment can be store high; lower cabinet hold everyday necessities like pot, pans and food.
Warm Up Modern Looks. A Honey hued reclaimed floor and wenge-wood wall cabinets shrink the vertical space and meld natural elements with the sleek base cabinets and stainless appliances.
Add Pops of Color. A Neutral pallete is a sound investment, but burst of color are very easy ways to add panache. Here, a tangerine mat and brightly hued house-wares keep the space lively.
Use Rich Finishes. This kitchen gets its luster from industrial inspired stainless appliances, while the glossy frosted glass doors lighten up the cabinetry.
